Blum Coffee Garden (4930 W Loomis Rd in Greenfield) is the perfect cafe to visit with your kids when you have some time to kill or want to give them a special treat.
Located in Greenfield about 15 minutes from Milwaukee, it was a passion project of Bluemel’s Garden and Landscape Center.
Now it’s a year-round treasure for anyone looking for good coffee and a beautiful atmosphere.
The building itself makes a statement, with a century-old copper and stained-glass dome that greets you upon arrival.
The dome was actually part of the former South Division High School (you’ll see other SDHS memorabilia inside).
Outside you’ll find yard games ready for the playing, colorful perennials, landscaping models to ooh and aah at, trickling fountains, and plenty of space to run around.
Inside you’ll immediately feel cozy with warm brick throughout, vibrant green plants, local art, and a zen fountain as the centerpiece.
They sell Colectivo coffee drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, etc.) and locally made bakery like gourmet rice krispie treats and granola bars. The baristas are always friendly there.
There’s plenty of seating inside and outside on their patio, and sometimes you’ll get extra lucky with some live music playing.
And, there’s a new beer and wine garden for your next date night.
One of the best parts for parents who are looking to entertain their kids is the fully fenced in playground in the corner of the outdoor area.
(Pack your sunscreen because there is no shade in this area).
This place never disappoints, and it’s close to other kid-friendly destinations like Boerner Botanical Garden, Wehr Nature Center, and Konkel Park.
